Musée Théodore Monod IFAN Ch. A. Diop

Musée Théodore Monod, Institut fondamental d'Afrique noire, Université Cheikh Anta Diop (IFAN Ch. A. Diop), Dakar, was founded in 1938 as the "Institut français d’Afrique Noir". After independence, IFAN established itself in Dakar as one of the world's most prestigious institutions for research into African culture.

Bienvenu Cheikh Seck a philosopher by training, is doing a master's degree at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts et des Cultures (ISAC). He is currently responsible for the collections, exhibition spaces, documentation and archiving at the Théodore Monod Museum of African Art IFAN-CAD.



Mohamadou Moustapha Dieye holds a master's degree in history with a specialization in prehistory, archaeology, and medieval history. He is currently the heritage manager in charge of the administration, public relations, and programmes of the IFAN-CAD Théodore Monod Museum of African Art. ...


Alioune Mbodji holds a BT in civil engineering. He is a technician and is responsible for logistics, studio management and cleaning staff at the IFAN-CAD Théodore Monod Museum of African Art.




Saikou Thiam has worked for years at the Historical Museum of Gorée as a temporary employee. Currently, he is in charge of the maintenance of the green spaces of the Théodore Monod Museum of African Art IFAN-CAD.




Clément Gomis
, is part of the security team of the Theodore Monod Museum of African Art IFAN-CAD.




Awa Wane was for a long time in charge of human resources at IFAN before occupying the position of assistant to the curator at the Théodore Monod Museum of African Art IFAN-CAD.






Fodé Camara is a painter and scenographer. For several years, he has been working with his team Tawfekh design and has participated in the setting up of several exhibitions at the Théodore Monod Museum of African Art. 



Abdoulaye Sy holds a degree in marketing communication from the Institut Supérieur Polytechnique de Dakar. He worked as a temporary employee before being recruited as an administrative attaché at the Théodore Monod Museum of African Art, during which time he participated in several cultural mediation activities.


Maïssa Tounkara is an artist known for his sandblasting technique. For some time now, he has been running a sandblasting initiation workshop for children and in the development of green spaces at the Théodore Monod Museum of African Art.
